Thomas J. Atchison, PhD, MBA

Having served as a Professor of Management at San Diego State University for nearly 30 years, Dr. Atchison is a recognized expert in the fields of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior. As a veteran of Boeing and the U.S. Naval Weapons Center, Dr. Atchison has both practical and academic expertise in compensation and benefits administration. He is the author of Management Today: Managing Work in Organizations and co-author of Compensation Administration, 2nd ed., upon which the DLC Internet Based Compensation Administration textbook is based. While working as a Senior Researcher at ERI Economic Research Institute, Dr. Atchison authored many of the DLC's online compensation courses. Dr. Atchison holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Washington, Seattle.

David J. Thomsen, PhD, ASA

Founder of ERI Economic Research Institute, Dr. Thomsen holds a PhD in Management Analysis. Dr. Thomsen has served as a Principal with William M. Mercer, Sr. Vice President of American Stores, Manager of Compensation for Dart Industries, and Managing Director of Baker, Thomsen Associates (a West Coast compensation and benefits consulting firm).

He was the original author of both SHRM's first accreditation test in compensation and benefits and ACA's quantitative certification course and test. In addition, he has authored hundreds of articles; the novel, Merger, Takeover Conspiracy; and ERI’s quarterly Update Newsletters. Dr. Thomsen authored and contributed content to several of the DLC's online compensation courses.


Malak is Vice President, Special Projects, for ERI Economic Research Institute. She has more than 25 years of experience in global human resources, total rewards and HR technology. Prior to joining ERI, Malak held several management positions with Booz, Allen, Citibank, GE, and KPMG / Bearing Point, and Genpact. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers University and a Master of Science in Management from Krannert School of Business at Purdue University. Malak keeps the DLC's courses up-to-date with the latest concepts in compensation administration and with practical knowledge drawn from her years of experience.

Linda Cox, CCP

Linda is the Compensation Project Manager at ERI Economic Research Institute and has over 30 years of Global Compensation Director-level and consultative experience with major multi-national corporations such as Allergan, Beckman Coulter, Quest Software and Dell. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education from California State University, Long Beach, and is a Certified Compensation Professional. She is currently volunteering as Treasurer of The Orange County Compensation & Benefits Association. Linda's business and personal travel has taken her to 31 countries and almost 300 cities throughout the world. She also established the Allergan International Assignment Program which grew to 67 expatriates during her 16 year Allergan career. Linda makes sure the DLC courses incorporate the latest practices in compensation administration. Her specialty is global compensation.

Lyle Leritz, PhD

Lyle Leritz is a Research Manager at ERI Economic Research Institute. Dr. Leritz has worked as a researcher and product manager at ERI for over a decade focusing on salary surveys, executive compensation, cost of living, and job analysis during that time. He received his PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Leritz focuses on the DLC courses that emphasize statistical methods.

Matt Skrinjar

Matt is the Product Manager for the Executive Compensation Assessor® tool at ERI Economic Research Institute. He has an extensive background in econometrics and time series modeling. As Product Manager, he analyzes the design, implementation, and award outcomes of executive compensation packages in organizations of all sizes. Matt also partners with current ERI Subscribers to interpret and provide guidance on the appropriate analytics to address current business problems. Matt keeps the DLC's executive compensation courses up-to-date.
